Major Rehabilitation Work

The United Counties of Prescott and Russell wish to issue a reminder that a complete closure of the Albert Belanger Bridge, located on County Road 8 in Lemieux, is scheduled to take place from February 21, 2023, until the fall of 2023, due to major rehabilitation work.

The proposed detour for northbound traffic will be via County Road 16, County Road 9, and County Road 2. The proposed detour for southbound traffic will be via County Road 2, County Road 9, and County Road 16. Details of the detours will be available from the start of construction at the following website: www.municipal511.ca.

“As the bridge structure must be fully lifted to perform the work, a complete closure of the lanes in both directions is advisable to ensure the proper execution of this project,” said Jérémie Bouchard, Director of Public Works for the United Counties of Prescott and Russell.

“The safety of both the citizens and the workers, the financially responsible implementation of the project, and the timely completion of the work are top priorities for this project,” explains Normand Riopel, Warden of the United Counties of Prescott and Russell. “Despite the logistical challenges, every effort will be made to minimize the impact on motorists, residents, and business owners affected by this road closure.”
